What is the Number of Diabetic Patients in Turkey?

The number of diabetic patients in Turkey has been increasing rapidly in recent years. Diabetes is a disease that causes problems in the regulation of blood sugar due to insufficient production or impaired use of the hormone insulin in the body. Types of diabetes include type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. There are people affected by all three types of diabetes in Turkey.

Although there is no exact data on the number of diabetic patients in Turkey, it is estimated that the number of diabetic patients in Turkey will be around 6.7 million in 2023. However, it is thought that this figure may be even higher because diabetes may not be diagnosed early or may not be recorded when diagnosed.

Diabetes is a disease that can develop when many factors come together. Factors such as genetic predisposition, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, wrong eating habits and stress can increase the risk of diabetes. The prevalence of obesity and sedentary lifestyles in Turkey is an important factor in the increase in diabetes cases.

Diabetes can cause serious complications and lead to health problems such as heart disease, kidney failure, eye problems and nerve damage. Therefore, it is very important to control and treat diabetes. Diabetic patients should visit their doctor regularly, take their medication regularly, eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

In Turkey, many campaigns, education programs and awareness-raising activities are carried out to combat diabetes. The aim is to diagnose diabetes early, promote healthy lifestyles and raise public awareness about diabetes. It is also important to provide appropriate treatment and care services to diabetic patients.

In conclusion, the number of diabetic patients in Turkey is increasing rapidly and this represents a serious health problem. In order to control and treat diabetes, it is of great importance to raise public awareness, promote healthy living habits and provide appropriate health services.
